I think it's more nuanced than that. Whether or not you believe in "good and evil" there is a limit to ignorance. At a certain point, your actions can be so harmful that "I didn’t know" isn’t an excuse.

We have an opportunity to do the funniest thing…
Right but reliance on it is a way to destroy the world in the dumbest way. I don’t mean in the robot apocalypse way but the collapse of most societies. Without reliable information, nothing can get done. If shitty llms get put into everything, there's no government, no travel, no grid/infrastructure and logistics of every kind are gone.
While it’s fun to think about living in a small, self-sufficient community, we are not prepared for that and certainly not at this pace.
You guys have friends?
I’m pretty sure that if there's an intergalactic rule like this, coercing species into being dumber would also be against the rules.
You seem to be nailing responsibility though. Good on you for having that awareness.
I would make my religion shutting down this thread.
The second one but my wife is the first one…
Leftists will read this and say, "Hell yeah!"
Either Bush, really. The kids I knew joined right before 9-11.
They are literally children. Some sign up at 16 even. It’s a mix of poor education and propaganda. “The military defends the rights of the people” etc. Since you can’t openly shit talk your superior officers or question their orders, it makes political propaganda more effective. I tried telling people we were going to murder brown people so corpos could get more money and they said, “ no, we are bringing freedom and stopping terrorists.”
A huge component was that it’s standard practice for Republican administrations to give better raises for service members.
It was honestly a nightmare of ignorant psychopaths. But tbf, there were quite a few people like me who just wanted to get away from shitty homes, get an education etc and joined before the large “wars.” We tried to teach, complained, and got out asap.
To be fair, this is how everyone looked in the 90s.
