I mean it all depends on why you want to hide it. I don't care about subpoenas. I care about spammers. First time I signed up for a domain i didn't realize you went on a public list, and it reached the point where I was getting a phone call every 20 mins or so.

yep, he will only do something if he thinks it will benefit himself. It's who he is.

Ya I was worried this was going to affect something like OpenWRT and a lot of shit was about to get fucked over. CUPS? 99.9% of people are gonna have that port closed on their router. Sure this is important to fix but a 9.9? Nah

Looks like its out there now:

https://www.evilsocket.net/2024/09/26/Attacking-UNIX-systems-via-CUPS-Part-I/

Short version (correct me if I'm wrong):

If you have CUPS service cups-browsed on your machine and you for some reason exposed that to the internet (port 631), you are about to get pwned.

EDIT: It also requires the user to print to the malicious fake printer.

Yesterday my 5 year old came home from Kindergarten and when asked about his day he said "We did a drill where we hid in our room because someone might come in and kill us".

This is the world we live in now.

And that works too. Containers are just a way to do it more efficiently. Better for weaker hardware and energy usage.

Shovelware and bloatware really aren't the same thing though.

Shovelware is low effort and often times copy pasted software. Bloatware is software a vendor decided you wanted without asking you. It can sometimes have some utility but usually only to some people.

The plant is being started back up to meet new power demands from AI, AI won't be controlling the plants.

If it can't get any worse than you mine as well cross it out from your voting criteria. I assure you that come January either Trump or Harris is going to be president. Mine as well prioritize other issues such as Ukraine. Ukraine can and will get worse under Trump.

nzb360. Amazing app and a great developer but I still want a great FOSS alternative.
