This is amazing, thank you for sharing!
Wow, hope this goes through!
That's a pretty good benchmark. Thank you!
Same here, and I agree with you. I think this whole reddit fiasco will cause enough migration to sustain Lemmy and lead to organic growth over time. And I think this is best for Lemmy in the long term.
Same, I am going through the same exact feeling as you are. I had similar existential thoughts on how everything is temporary and fleeting, websites and life... (please don't judge haha, I really had these thoughts)
In a way, Lemmy is exciting and I've got used to it very quickly. It feels like the reddit of old and is surprisingly comfy. However, reddit was a part of some of the best years of my life and helped me become what I'm today personally and professionally. There is a wealth of information on reddit and I hope that doesn't go away.
I will really really miss using reddit, and it will hurt in the short term, but I believe it will be a good thing eventually, especially if the Fediverse replaces it (at least to some extent). Hopefully then we can avoid this happening again and end this cycle.
It's a shitty situation all around. If BoC doesn't do this, inflation runs high and that will ruin affordability even more. If they continue increasing, that again ruins affordability by increasing mortgage costs, which is the biggest expense for majority of people.
In my naïve opinion, we probably need to slow down immigration, which will cool down housing and probably better long term. But then again, that will cause shortage of labor and output. That in turn is probably going to lead to higher prices again (I could be wayyyy wrong though)
I'm no expert, but this is my view on the whole situation. Would like someone with more knowledge to provide their insight.
Yes, please! As a steam deck owner, I'm curious how this compares
Wow, thank you! I didn't know this existed. Just enabled the addon
Wow, that's massive! How's the backup situation? Do you backup the data?
Thank you for sharing! This is great!
Holy shit
