That's not very Libre(office) of you there, partner

Unironically -- use markdown. It's far more intuitive for most people, comes with similar git tracking benefits, and has simpler compilation / tooling steps.

This is more of an argument for LibreOffice (and in line with the post you're replying to) than it's an argument for using a programming language, let alone a specific one.

Installed with other means, meaning what? Flatseal is all about managing flatpaks that are already installed. Has nothing to do with installing them.

The main image shows mobile devices, but I don't see a mobile device build. Are you planning to add releases with precompiled apks?

Awesome project! Thanks for taking the time to post.

Curious if you considered offsetting the mounting holes to account for the fork rake angle? That way the bags would sit vertically and loading / unloading might be a little easier. Although I would guess that your design is a little more aerodynamic if that's your thing!

Did you remove the french language pack? That's gonna be another 15 easy

I finally finished setting up my Nebula network! An overlay network, as opposed to a true VPN, but excellent for flexibility and remote access. For anyone wanting maximum control over your network with excellent performance, I highly recommend it.

Check out apalrd's blog for a great tutorial if you're interested.

It depends on where you're at with fitness and health in general. Prioritize being well regardless of feedback here. That includes adequate rest, nutrition, hydration, etc.

For most folks, consistency is by far the most important factor. Stick to a schedule that works for you and do what you can. Maybe set up something like this:

  • "the goal": what you'd like to be able to do

  • "the bar": the minimum that qualifies as a workout for you

Maybe you don't crush the goal every time, but clearing the bar will go a very long way. Make it accessible! Maybe the goal is a 30 minute run and the bar is a 15 minute walk, for example.

Is there a term for this kind of sci-fi esque reframing of what we'd otherwise think of as "normal" to highlight how ridiculously cool or weird something is?

I absolutely love Scarpa. They make the only footwear that really, really, fits my weird feet off the shelf. I just wish they made ski boots for the sane.

That doesn't mean anything, at all. Just because "a lot of people [were] showing Los Alamos data" doesn't mean all Los Alamos data can be publicized.

Ex: a guy named Robert who led a very particular research effort in New Mexico

Shamelessly stolen from reddit.

AlternativeTo is a site I use quite a bit. Personally I use it when I get fed up with an Android app having too many ads / creepy network behavior or want to find a self-hostable version of a freemium service.

It has filters for free, open source, platform type, etc. From my understanding it's all crowd sourced, so if you disagree with a rating put in a vote! Sharing this in hopes that others find it as useful as I do.

If you know of similar or better resources I would love to hear about them.

Edit: many people are noting that the comments and reviews are out of date. I agree! Despite that I still find it to he useful. It would be great if this little bit of visibility gets more folks engaged over there to improve it.

I've been playing around with my home office setup. I have multiple laptops to manage (thanks work) and a handful of personal devices. I would love to stop playing the "does this charging brick put out enough juice for this device" game.

I have:

  • 1x 100W Laptop
  • 1x 60W Laptop
  • 1x 30W Router
  • 1x 30W Phone
  • 2x raspberry pis

I've been looking at multi-device bricks like this UGREEN Nexode 300W but hoped someone might know of a similar product for less than $170.

Saving a list of products that are in the ballpark below, in case they help others. Unfortunately they just miss the mark for my use case.

  • Shargeek S140: $80, >100W peak delivery for one device, but drops below that as soon as a second device is plugged in.
  • 200W Omega: at $140 it's a little steep. Plus it doesn't have enough ports for me. For these reasons, I'm out.
  • Anker Prime 200W: at $80 this seems like a winner, but ~~they don't show what happens to the 100W outputs when you plug in a third (or sixth) device. Question pending with their support dept.~~ it can't hit 100W on any port with 6 devices plugged in.
  • Anker Prime 250W: thanks FutileRecipe for the recommendation! This hits all of the marks and comes in around $140 after a discount. Might be worth the coin.

If you've read this far, thanks for caring! You're why this corner of the internet is so fun. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Is anybody self hosting Beeper bridges?

I'm still wary of privacy concerns, as they basically just have you log into every other service through their app (which as I understand is always going on in the closed source part of Beeper's product).

The linked GitHub README also states that the benefit of hosting their bridge setup is basically "hosting Matrix hard" which I don't necessarily believe.
