That would be an intriguing idea, and animation would be a good way to do it too! I would usually prefer that they go the new ship and new crew route, but if they tell stories I'm interested in I would be happy to see it.

I've thought about having a more serious animated series in the franchise, and I think it could work. There would of course be a group of people that wouldn't watch because it's not live action, but depending on how they do it the costs could be a fair amount less too.

I just saw that Kira Guloien, who plays the bartender from Wedding Bell Blues, is listed as the Agonyan on the Memory Alpha page. When I get a moment I'll have to compare the two appearances!

That was a good one! You could tell that the writers liked the character and wrote interesting stories for him, but Andrew Robinson's acting pushed everything up another notch on top of that!

I always struggled to care about the characters, which to me is the most important part of the shows! And being mostly focused on one character also didn't help, as you don't learn a lot about everyone else. In SNW I think it only took 3-4 episodes before I liked every main character.

I think Trek has almost always had an issue writing good romantic relationships, and I've never figured out why. A lot of the friendships often feel pretty natural, so it just never made sense why the romances were usually awkward.

Yeah, they did the same thing in Those Old Scientists too! I'm pretty sure Jack Quaid said his was ad-libbed because Frakes was directing.

I'm not sure who was underneath all the makeup, the voice didn't sound familiar to me. I liked the whole costume though!

Jess sounded a little bit different than she does in interviews, but it was pretty close to her regular voice!

It did the same thing for me! I lurk on a few other Star Trek communities, and I was surprised at the negativity I was seeing about it. While I can understand some of it, (I personally would like to see a slightly higher ratio of serious episodes) I find I usually enjoy the more humorous episodes!

I listen to it as well, and did the same thing this week! I always get a few laughs from that episode, and Garak does especially well.

That does keep things interesting! It does make me wonder who the dead executive was though!

I really enjoyed this episode! It might have just caught me in the right mood, but it was pretty fun. I got a chuckle out of all the little mannerisms that Mount was doing as his character. (probably because I know a few people that fold their hands over their stomach!) I found Wesley's take as the captain humorous, and the Riker maneuver got a laugh as well! I had guessed the plot twist fairly early, but I wasn't entirely sure due to Spock not being seen. It still was pretty interesting to see everything laid out though.

I'm a little annoyed about the La'an and Spock romance that they were teasing in the earlier episodes, but hopefully they don't go too heavy on it. It would be nice if they could do more platonic friendships instead of seemingly everyone being romantically attracted, but it seems that's par for the course. If they can tell some good stories I'll be fine with it!

Overall I would probably give this one a 7.5 or 8. I definitely enjoyed it in the moment, but I would still prefer some deeper stories. It appears we may get some of them later in the season though.

Here’s a place to discuss the recent Strange New Worlds episode. Spoiler warning of course!

There's a packed entry list for this week's RallyX event in Denmark! It's the home round for Ulrik Linnemann, who arrives this week in second in the RallyX North standings. All the drivers will be pushing to get good results before the final event in Estering next week, so it should be an entertaining weekend!

Rally Finland is almost here! One of the fastest events on the calendar every year, as well as an unofficial home round for Toyota due to the team being based there. Ott Tänak arrives with a 1 point championship lead, which relegates him to road sweeping duties for this round.

I'm still figuring out how to best do this, but I'm amazed at the pictures I can get! This is the JPEG straight from the camera, so no editing other than the stacking and tweaks the camera does. I almost exclusively use natural light, but I'm probably going to need to grab something for this type of thing.

Lots of fun, and if my neighbors didn't think I was crazy before, I'm sure they do now! 😂
