Multiple staff laid off

This is why we need to have 90 dollar games! /s

Let’s say that 300-400 workers had just gotten laid off as a result of poor sales of games like EA Sports FC 25, as well as longstanding mismanagement of series like Dragon Age and Titanfall. Wouldn’t you think one or even a few of these people could stand to take a pay cut in order to prevent such an outcome?

Original comic by Shen Comix

Description: A comic in five panels. In the first panel a woman observes another one who bumps her head while trying to throw something away. The same situation in the second panel, but the other woman hits her head on a shelf. In the third panel the first woman says to herself "Oh my god, she is such a loser." In the fourth panel she imagines a marriage scene with the other woman. In the fifth panel she stares at her own thought bubble which shows her and the other woman sitting lovingly on a bench in a park. She asks herself "Hey! Hey, what's all this about??"

For context (if you’re a sane person and not extremely online), researcher William Costello recently did a simple, anonymous Twitter poll. Men and women were invited to rate pictures of British singer Olly Murs when he was huskier vs. when he really hit his gym goals and became legitimately shredded.

These perspectives have been presented to encourage debate on important public policy challenges.  On April 16, 2025, the United Kingdom's Supreme Court issued a unanimous ruling interpreting the terms "woman" and "sex" under the Equality Act 2010 to refer strictly to biological sex assigned at birth.

Not mine, but I could not find the source

Description: A Windows 2000 desktop, showing an installation wizard for a program called "Gender 2.0". The window displays the message: "Thank you for reinstalling your gender!" Below, two options are given: "Reinstall using default settings (recommended)" and "Custom install (for advanced users) - Choose your gender expression, pronouns and other features".

Hm, is his wife's name Abigail? 🤔

Hey, guess what! Your argument is so inane, even OpenAI is now convinced it was a really stupid idea too. But sure, go on pretending that freely available fan art by a single person is exactly the same as a paid service by a multi-billion dollar company.

I appreciate the sentiment, but my living situation is not all that much better. 😅

If only we could be in a small café above the Lac de Sainte-Croix right now, have a croissant and a coffee...

Oh, I hope you can do that. Also I am seriously jealous now.

I wholeheartedly agree. Provence is so pretty and the "Gorges du Verdon" are stunning.

This is a prime example of why patriarchy is hurting men too, because what this guy is saying boils down to:

  • We can make them work at any hour of the day because who cares if these guys have any life outside work?
  • We don't have to do any work management, we just call those guys
  • We can send them wherever, whenever
  • We can create a toxic work environment and it's okay to treat guys like shit
  • And those guys don't even complain because they need this job so bad
    Isn't it great?

The statement about "workplace laws" is so telling: Yeah, who cares about treating men with respect and dignity!?
It's not just about discriminating against women, it's also about mistreating men. That's what patriarchy is at its core: Pit men and women against each other and then reap the benefits. It's a "divide and conquer strategy".

I can relate to your rant. So just one small note, if I may: I know how you may feel in this moment, but keep in mind that transitioning takes time. Yes, of course, there are things that can be changed quickly (new clothes, etc.), but other things take a lot of time (hormones take a while before they kick in and so do other physical changes). You do not have to be in a rush to get everything done ASAP, because it often does not work that way. So don't put yourself under a lot of pressure and be kind to yourself. At the end of the day the only thing that matters is that you feel comfortable with yourself. Godspeed, friend!

As the psychologists love to say: "You cannot have no behavior", because even completely passive behavior is still behavior. Identity is the same way. But semantics aside, I definitely agree that people should get as weird as they please.

Obligatory footnote: EvoPsych is mostly bunk, deeply intertwined with eugenics and riddled with homophobia, sexism and rape apologia.

The stock went down when Tesla's sales numbers for the first quarter of 2025 got out and showed a decrease of sold vehicles, on top of Musk's shenanigans and the protests at Tesla showrooms. Now these events have been "priced in" and the stock operates on vague estimates and wishful thinking again until the next slew of substantial bad news hits, at the latest when the next quarterly numbers are due.
