in my experience if you are "really fast" with QWERTY it wasn't worth it, but I was only able to become about half as fast as with QWERTY and it took some effort
I feel like it could be beneficial to teach young people an alternative layout so they could become fast from a young age at something that might be more efficient
I had to minimize text but lemmy.world seems to be the top instance based on that, user wise
