all the OP ones

lemm.ee looks most tolerant of the bigger lemmies maybe

bluedwarf.top is a little text only cozy forum

I "back up" my posts to my computer, then just do a keyword file search to find stuff if I ever want to repost places

Some of the reddit alternatives sound interesting (discuit, squabblr, etc.) even if they have the same problems that may doom them eventually; I just havent gotten to experimenting with too many other forums I guess

MOB once said it wasn't expensive, maybe a couple hundred bucks a year

you could operate a lemmy instance on a spare old computer for the price of electricity

You could buy hosting like with Dreamhost (I forget if wolfballs ended up using another), I forget how much it is a month, maybe like $10? Buy a domain and have them host and then you just set up the software

I don't think it's expensive overall, more probably of the time and effort of coding

there may be more costs

I've wondered if / when donky would open up

yeah make use of gab

also scored freeforum, wolfballs, explodingheads communities (or just freeforum maybe)

we also need a new lemmy instance to migrate to

edit: post on migration paths - https://exploding-heads.com/post/792397?scrollToComments=true

I think their reasoning is defederation has become de facto censorship and created fragmentation problems

even among the leftists there's been some big defederations (lemmyworld against a piracy instance, beehaw against lemmyworld, hexbear being defederated by beehaw / lemmyworld I think, etc.)

I'm used to migrating, just make sure we get a bunch of people on alternative platforms

Gab freeforum: https://gab.com/groups/72118

freeforum is on scored but kinda inactive: https://scored.co/c/freeforum

We can migrate to other lemmy instances (recommended ones?)

Nostr migration will gain most or many of us as in the post

> post more?

THIS POST THO

this post was reported as gross LOL

it's a hivemind of a sort

If you search on a search engine for "no goals" or "life without goals" you get some sites that emphasize the importance of setting and achieving goals, but there are some other voices who say that setting goals is often an issue for them, so they try to live without goals.

Some of the problems they indicate are that goals often end up being achieved differently or on a different schedule, so it seems pointless to set goals, or they can get things done without making it in to a "goal".

I was curious if you've seen this philosophy and experimented with it: what are your opinions on "living without goals"?

idea for a community like words of the day posts, was wondering if there is a way to automate the process

does lemmy support drafts for posts? (feature request?)

Is there a guide to having bot post every day like in the title and body, word and definition?

How much "spam" does our instance want like this, automated posts to generate discussion?

Thoughts on the topic or are there API docs somewhere?

ROFL

I've seen some people mention unique properties of morning sunlight, has anyone experienced or read of such benefits?
