A bit more niche, is Weasis - Dicom Browser for medical images. Alternative is also ImageJ which is used a lot in for scans too.

old MacBook air 2015 with decent battery is a great portable option, slap Linux mint on it and should fly.
They are good but do they still make them find it hard to find them
