Almost definitely puffballs, one of my favorite mushrooms to forage. Though I've never had ones this big and I hear they lose a bit of flavor if they're giant.
If you cut a *(vertical) cross section and it's a uniform texture with nothing that looks like the structure of a classic capped mushroom that should rule out any lookalikes. Should still be good if the inside is white and not starting to turn brown.

You can violate 2021 IBC all you want in PA because it isn't adopted code. 2018 only cares about privacy for urinal partitions and the enclosed stalls which weren't touched.

I hate the disparaging of gatekeeping as inherently bad. Mountain biking has seen an uptick of people riding electric fat bikes, essentially just dirt bikes. It's bad enough when beginners are using normal bikes to ride in wet muddy conditions on trails that can't handle it or skidding into corners, it does so much more damage when they're tearing up the trail with a heavy motorized bike with wide tires. More gatekeeping would keep the trails in better conditions.
Easy to check against another source. This is one of the easiest to ID mushrooms that people eat.
