My favourite British monarchy trivia is that, as everyone knows, they changed their family name from the German original to Windsor in WW1. But the thing not as many people know is that they did it late in 1917, after it was generally believed that Germany would lose the war. They were hedging their bet.

I'm using regular Mint at the moment after years on Debian/KDE, and Cinnamon has been a pleasant experience both in capabilities and stability.

Fun fact: Tiktok now makes an Instagram competitor called Notes. It shares an account with regular Tiktok. It seems to be in testing in Canada and Australia only right now.

I'd argue it never did. This is what it was intended to be. This is what its original founders wanted. A country where white wealthy slave-owners could reap the benefits of a country's productive power without having to maintain any sort of social contract with those not of their class.

Update, Coffee in that alternative mode worked great!

The researchers have released sample images. Not being a neuroscientist, I don't know how useful these images are in research. But to a layperson like me I think they're great for showing the complexity of the brain.
