So was this Crowdstrike's fuck up and not Microsoft's?

his extensive network of connections with establishment GOP heavyweights, wealthy financiers, technology executives, the prestige press, and fellow graduates of Yale Law School—precisely the elites he rails against.

More than 200 people appear on Vance’s Venmo “friends” list. Among them is Amalia Halikias, government relations director at the Heritage Foundation—the conservative think tank coordinating the controversial Project 2025. ... So are Jeff Flake, the famously anti-Trump former Arizona senator and current ambassador to Turkey; lobbyists from organizations like the Government Strategies Group; people affiliated with other conservative think tanks like the Hoover Institution and the American Enterprise Institute; journalists and media personalities like Bari Weiss and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson; and tech executives from Anthropic and AOL. (None of these people responded to requests for comment.)

This points to one important caveat—being friends on Venmo does not mean two people have transacted together, or even know the payment app has designated them as friends.

According to Venmo, when someone first uses the app, they are prompted to allow it to access their phone contacts. If they agree, Venmo will find any contacts already using the app and automatically populate the user’s friend list. Users can also intentionally add or remove friends. Along with the user’s transactions, their friends list is public by default. This means it’s likely that Vance’s list of friends was largely populated by the contacts in his phone when he set up his account in December of 2016.

Just asking, if he dies right now obviously Harris become president. Does that mean she gets the nomination, or is there a super quick primary to nominate a candidate?

Ditches, which are part of the overall road design. The road isn't just the asphalt, it's the ditch and probably beyond too.

The first rule in rescue is don't become another casualty.

Hunker down for a few days, iirc the most dangerous radiation will decay in the first few days. You don't want the ash on your body. Fill your bathtub/whatever else with water to drink and ration your food.

AWD is overrated imo. Really don't need, my next will be FWD.

I haven't looked but I'm sure you could find a SUV or crossover with fwd.

But I agree with the other commenter, don't buy a SUV. Cars or hatchbacks are really all you need.

He thinks the US sends them a bill and they don't pay.

He's very transactional.

And a SSD I guess.

Alternative question: Do you want steam to offer a console only version? Same motherboard, just no screen or battery.

As many as 300 people were stranded at the top of Sulphur Mountain after a technical issue on Monday disabled the Banff Gondola.

RCMP told CTV News they were called by number of people who said they were trapped on the mountain following the shut down.

A power outage reported by Fortis Alberta is believed to be the cause, but no details have been confirmed.

There is a visitor building and restaurant at the top, I expect they all crammed into it. Hopefully no one was left in a gondola car.

Got to 9 C overnight in town of Banff, would have been much colder up on the mountaintop.

Any major issues?

the Farmers’ Almanac is predicting the “return of the BRRR.”

Frigid temperatures are expected for much of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and westernmost Ontario.

Newfoundland and Labrador will experience icy temperatures but won’t be nearly as cold as the middle of the country.

British Columbia will luckily dodge this frosty forecast

The one video I saw suggested running this betterfox.js file or some more elaborate ones. Is that really necessary?

Or are there just some settings that I should change?

(Already run ublock origin if that matters.)

The Larva: It is interesting to note that even though we’ve seen dragonflies mostly flying around us during hot summer months, they spend most of their life underwater as a larva. They can live underwater for as long as two years, and this is considered to be the longest stage in the life cycle of a dragonfly.

While the larva (nymph) stage can last as long as two years, the adult dragonfly lives for 6 months.

Voyager Space, one of several US companies formulating concepts for new commercial space stations, has established a joint venture with Airbus to co-develop an Earth-orbiting research outpost called Starlab.

The Starlab station is designed to accommodate a permanent crew of four people, plus a few more on a short-term basis. NASA anticipates requiring capacity for at least two astronauts permanently in low-Earth orbit in the 2030s after the decommissioning of the ISS, which currently supports a permanent crew of seven.

Voyager says the Starlab station could be ready for launch in 2028. The entire station will launch on a single heavy-lift rocket. Kuta said the Starlab team will announce a launch provider for the space station in the next couple of months.

also bar users under the age of 18 from accessing the internet from 10pm to 6am.

Meanwhile, a tiered system will mean those under the age of eight will be permitted a maximum of 40 minutes of usage a day, with up to two hours permitted for 16 and 17-year-olds.

Children aged between eight to 16 will have their time limit capped at one hour. ‘Teenager mode’

The proposed reforms are open to public feedback as part of a consultation process scheduled to run until Sept 2.

Wrt political stability and things like that.
