I haven't had any issues with it.

I've never done it in my own home, but I had a coworker I'd text with even though his desk was an arms length away from mine. Mostly because it could be hard to tell when either of us was on or about to make a call.

Yeah, /tg/ has a share thread. It's kind of ephemeral and it's not straight forward to navigate but if something cant be found elsewhere it's your best bet.

Only ever used it for piracy, it's been the most reliable source for finding niche TTRPG books. From the first time I used it to now it probably averages out to once or twice a year, though in practice it comes in bursts.

There is a smaller city in New York (the state) where I've got an ex whose single, still interested and we only broke up because we didn't want to do the long distance thing. I'd love to visit. Would be bittersweet in the end, neither of us could ever make the move permanently, but I think it would be nice to relive for a week. Also the pictures of nature they send look beautiful.

I was going to say "the one where he's a rapist", but weirdly that only narrows it down a bit. 🤮

The Inner Light was what finally got me into Star Trek.

It's not like I had never seen an episode, in fact I'd seen lots, but it was comfortable background noise I'd change the channel too as yet another repeat I had no context for aired. Always somehow a filler episode or the second part of a multi-episode arc. I'd written off Trek as pleasantly mediocre and wholly dependent on technobabble despite otherwise being an extremely keen sci-fi fan.

Luckily, on some long forgotten forum, someone described an episode which sounded nothing like the Trek I had seen. As you said, the emotional weight got me good.

I was going to post the same thing.

I lied, I cheated, I bribed men to cover the crimes of other men. I am an accessory to murder. But most damning thing of all, I think I can live with it. And if I had to do it all over again, I would.

Just... god damn it hits hard. Also Sisko's change in tone turning the final "I can live with it" into a question.

I personally like that this season is leaning more into the supernatural, and have so enjoyed it far more than Seasons 2 & 3. It doesn't have that visual flair of the first season though sadly, the constant night is something I suspect was more evocative and claustrophobic in the script than on the screen.

It's a little petty, but I feel stupidest about my hearing. Cranked my music too loud and didn't wear ear protection ever when I was younger. The tinnitus gets so bad sometimes it makes me suicidal.

I've pretty consistently chosen less hours and better working conditions over pay since I started to have that choice. It's made it a lot more tolerable. I'm currently on a four day week, with a minimal commute, good perks and a relatively stress free job that I took a pay cut for. My retirement savings look pretty slim, but due to my health the chance of a long one isn't much higher anyway.

Not without it's issues. Pay is pretty significantly below the median. Fortunately I'm not interested in having kids and I'm content living cheaply, even if it sounds boring. But I'm in a weird dead zone for government support; for instance - if I earned more, there are programs for "middle income" housing and the like that I earn too little to qualify for. Low income housing programs are a joke - with wait times being as much as a decade -but even if it wasn't I'm not high priority anyway. Also no way on earth I'm ever getting a home loan, even though mortgage repayments would be less than rent and I could conceivably make the deposit.
