Excellent point. I wonder how it would go if there was a study comparing tipped and non-tipped income, as declared to the tax department. “Numbers show you’re clearly earning more money without tips. What’s the problem?”

I know you said “no nextcloud”, but I often see posts from people who say nextcloud was overkill for them, but they don’t realise that almost every component of nextcloud can be uninstalled if you don’t want it. It can be pretty barebones if you want it to be.

I don’t see how you’re going to get away from the domain requirement, though, unless you’re just going to connect to your raw IP address? (And if you are, I didn’t think that nextcloud required a domain?)

Sorry I can’t be more helpful with a different solution, but hopefully someone out there knows of something that would suit your needs.

But much closer to 60% from 2004-2016, and below 60% before that. See turnout statistics. Definitely more than 50% of eligible population typically voting, though.

Hey, that’s not fair! OP could also be from Myanmar or Liberia.

But, for those not in Myanmar, Liberia, or USA: the reason this seems to be an issue is that a pound is apparently 16oz (not 12).

Seems plausible.

I’m not measuring it, just quoting another source. I just wanted to find some numbers to try and understand how Sweden and Australia compare.

If it's the entire country, then Australians still don't have to deal with diversity because most of their minorities live away from the white people.

You make an excellent point.

Yeah, I wasn’t claiming it was a highly accurate source, and I was surprised that we rated so low based on those calculations, so thanks for the additional analysis. I just found it hard to believe that Sweden would be “dealing with diversity” more than Australia (or at least, in any significant way). Maybe there’s more nuance to Sweden’s numbers, too?

As an Australian, I honestly don’t disagree with you… but suggesting Sweden has more racial diversity than Australia?! From what i can see, Sweden has “6% diversity”, whereas Australia has 9%. Not a huge difference, granted, but completely different ballpark to USA (49%), and if this is your measure, Australia still “beats” Sweden.

I mean, the use of gene therapy does seem quite revolutionary, but the treatment only works for a very rare type of hearing loss (”some deaf children…”), and even AFTER treatment, the kids still have a “moderate to severe” loss (assuming the 50dB level they mention is the minimum volume heard). “Normal” hearing is around 20dB. ”…can hear”… a little bit more than almost nothing.

18 dead Americans

… this time. The only thing “special” about this event was a few more dead than last time. There were 130 “mass shootings” in the first 3 months of this year alone. 48,830 gun deaths in 2021, and rising every year.

I know you weren’t saying this, but I think it’s important to state there’s a LOT more than 18 lives at stake here. I know these numbers won’t make any difference, but what people like this are really saying is that their “rights” are more important than the lives of all those people, and the many more to come.

What law would it be breaking?

Not sure about USA law, but in Australia we would call that “obtaining financial advantage by deception”. Otherwise known as “fraud”.

In some countries, it is!
