Not sure it has anything to do with windows sadly. HL is terrible written, there’s posts all over the internet about it. It works fine on my computer and stutters and lags on my wife’s. There’s some mods you can install to fix some issues, but she has an amd gpu and it seems that that’s part of the problem.

I can disable plenty of the security features on Mac and it continues to work just fine, compared to windows where if you disable UAC you literally cannot use your computer the same way and it will bug you constantly. Cf only acts as a mitm for encrypted traffic if you choose it in the options. If you provide your own cert then they can’t decrypt anything.
