This soap base is really good.

I tried out a @sgrdddy@sub.wetshaving.social "slurry lather" and did less time loading with a very wet brush. It worked out surprisingly well -- I'll definitely be experimenting with this some more.

Today marks the Day of Ascension for those seeking MMOC Mastery. Almost everyone is in for the 31st already, but there are a few stragglers yet.

Well done to all who participated, and especially to all who persevered to the end. I hope that it was an enjoyable experience, and that you developed some appreciation for the MMOC.

I know that this month I've learned a few things about the MMOC:

It's all about the lather. It's wild how much of a difference it made from one day to the next depending on how wet and slick my lather was.
Keep that shave angle steep, especially against the grain.
Treat it like a straight and stretch your skin when necessary.
I still love this little razor and look forward to using it (and my other GEMs) throughout the rest of the year.

See y'all tomorrow, shaving with whatever the hell we want!

A piece of unsolicited advice: it's worth making an effort to stay in touch with the classmates that you will miss. It's too easy to let those relationships slip by as time goes on, and at a certain point it's harder to reconnect in my experience.
