Most European banks require app approvals for many types of transactions. Not available on the web anymore. If my bank app won't work on it, I won't buy it. At least not yet.

I'm considering a Fairphone next.

I like Fedora for my desktop. Close enough to upstream to get the latest features, but not so bleeding edge that it's unstable.

I moved in 2025. Moved to the Netherlands. No downsides besides having to file (but not pay) US taxes, and how FATCA discourages European banks from taking US citizen customers.

They bet big on crypto and it hasn't paid off for years. They continued hiring. Their stock has been flat or lowering for the past five years. They continued hiring.

In around 2011 or 2012, I worked as an MSP engineer and one of the clients was a large mega church. The pastor used software that basically wrote his sermons for him - it would pick the verses that matched the themes he wanted to cover, referenced past sermons to make sure it's not pulling the same quotes over and over, and pulled in common interpretations preprogrammed into its library.

I can't imagine how worse it has become. No soul left in the grift.
