After dabbling with AI for years, I think it should be called out for what it is; machine learning. We're not in the ballpark of intelligence and barely close to mimicking (artificial) intelligence.

Though ML has a lot of things going for it, my most successful results are with voice synthesizing. Almost flawless and pretty amazing considered the yield.

"Download our cloudspotter app"

How about I just look out the window?

LLMs can also be run locally

If one's at the point where one runs local LLM's, I would assume one is smart enough to explore the capabilities (or lack thereof) pretty quickly.

Took me less than a week to probe various models myself, concluding with "anybody considering AI's to be oracles of objective truth have no contact with reality".

This sounds like a job for an AI shrink!

I just enjoy creating virtual people and play god, no biggie.

Would you use Windows just because all your friends do? (aka. would you jump out of a window if all your cool gamer friends did?)

Just be glad they’re giving people an option.

No. If the discord channels/rooms (often called a 'discord server' where the head moderators are called 'admins') is the main support channel, I don't take the product serious. And I don't want joke software on my systems.

I'm not glad they're giving people an option, I'm angry that their foundational principles are askew and they're working towards continuing to use Discord as the main support channel.

Would suddenly "finding" a personality be the very epitome of not having a real and genuine personality?

I haven't believed a single thing I've seen on the internet since 1997.

And what made me lose faith back then is to painful to retell.

OK, it was a faulty game guide on gameFAQs that made me waste tens of hours.

Never forgetti.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
