Mine is randomly generated but I guess it would work. :)

The fact that they can kill third party apps is exactly why we need something else.
Was looking for this, thank you!
I havent been on beehaw, but if you vomit from friendly and good, it says something about your own personality.
One of the most popular Mastadon instances are also lgbt. To me, its a sign that those people have a strong desire to meet others like them, and discuss their situation. Seems perfectly healthy to me.
I dont have to be there if I dont want to engage with them, just like I dont have to go to a football game if I dont like football.
I mean, cant we just all pick our tribe and let others have their tribe?
We do not have to fight eachother online.
Please read that again. The entire traditional social media is built on "engagement", which usually means to throw things that upset people into their feed so they post and react. We must try and be better than that. Its really silly. Its all just people behind all these posts, and you probably have a lot more in common with them than the billionaires owning the social media networks, and who you are literally sponsoring by using their platforms.
First day for me too. Seems really good so far, interesting threads and discussions.
I just joined today and first impression is great. Seems like a lot of nice people ended up under the same ceiling. :)
Firefox. And I even installed Thunderbird again after all these years, since they are going to have a UI refresh this summer. It's a very nice nostalgic feeling to once again use a local email client.
If the new theme is good, it's going to be a keeper. :)
Reddit was also actively discouraging discussions since people would downvote anything they didn't agree with right away. Became a total echo chamber...
Maybe it's OK though. The big majority usually follows what is default, and then you have a minority doing something different. Linux users are like 1% and it's still enough for the community to thrive and enjoy themselves a lot. It's probably the same here, that once we reach enough users to keep things interesting, we don't actually need more users. :)
First thing I read on Lemmy and it's like I've found emotionally intelligent people finally.
I saw the same thing on Mastadon, just normal people capable of handling their emotions.
Western social media (and television) is promoting the worst in people and it can make users believe everyone is insane. So it's very nice to see this being posted.
Thanks!
It's not supported and probably won't be. But I also have hopes. :)
