why isn't the void there

Florida has a a fucking military police corp and can legally take your kids if they admit to having gender dysphoria. Several states already have or are attempting to pass "bounty hunting" laws that encourage you to report trans people or people who have had an abortion or fucking MISCARRIAGE, even in other states, and will arrest them under penalty of death if they try to return. Politicians are openly calling for their enemies to be executed by firing squad. Depending on the 2024 election I probably wont live to see the next one. Shit's turning into Saudi Arabia over here.

even funnier is the other cat screaming in the background in response

this is honestly even worse because they arent beholden to the constitution then

Not a mod but the "relates their entire personality on their anime profile picture" part is literally me. The moment I switched to this pfp on discord my entire online personality changed to fit it

it was a “military organization”, he said, that will be used for “aiding law enforcement with riots and illegal immigration”.

The whole time I was reading this, I was wondering how the fuck any of this is legal, and this passage answers my question perfectly: it's not. The constitution explicitly says that the military is never to be used for policing purposes, because the founding fathers were terrified of this exact kind of overreach happening as a result. This is the same as if the Third Amendment somehow became relevant again in modern times. That's why they branded the militia as "disaster relief," for the same reason as Fox News is branded as "entertainment" and not news media; they know this would never hold up against the law.

isn't there a theory that it's a pun based on Sumerian taverns also being brothels? like, "I can't see, i'll open a widow" but they still dont understand why it's a dog

One of the main issues I have with the Fediverse is that I can't view any of the posts on Fedi. sites in my RSS feed. is there any way to fix this, and if not I would really like to see that feature added somehow.

Around 2017-2018, there used to be a huge circlejerk online about how Fortnite was the dumbest thing ever, to the point where "Fortnite bad, Minecraft good" was part of the infamous Keanu Chungus 100 meme. Why did it get so much hate, and why did it stop?

If you didn't know, on DuckDuckGo you can search for posts or magazines with site:kbin.social just like you would with Reddit. The same applies to any other Fediverse site like Kbin, Lemmy, Mastodon, etc.. I was really frustrated because it seems like Google was intentionally suppressing them.

I'm aware this is probably because of SEO bs, but I can't google posts on the Fediverse. You can easily find posts/accounts on twitter or Reddit using Google, but not Mastodon, Kbin, Lemmy, etc. The only way to find ANYTHING about them is by going directly through the sites themselves, and typing in the entire domain like it's 1999 and you're on Netscape Navigator after finding them through word of mouth. The first search result for "Kbin" isn't even the site itself, its a freaking GitHub page.

I tried using other search engines like Marginalia.nu and MetaGer, but no results show up for either of them. None of the in-site search engines are very good at finding anything other than keywords, so people will still probably be stuck using "site:reddit.com" until its possible to do so.

I really like this place, so I really hope there will be a way to fix this, but im worried that it won't last if people still have to rely on Reddit to get results.
