I had something similar happen to me for a game's Subreddit right before the shut down. It's less censorship and more 'everyone use our shit app.'

I've been using https://lemmyverse.net/ though it takes a couple steps to get subscribed. You'll have to copy the link type thing under the Magazine's name, paste it into kbin's search, and delete the exclamation point at the beginning, then search.
