I always thought bonsai meant little tree. 10 feet tall isn't little.

Edit: I looked it up.

Bonsai defined The word “Bon-sai” (often misspelled as bonzai or banzai) is a Japanese term which, literally translated, means “planted in a container”.

Completely off topic. Shouldn't it be "couldn't care less" as there is no possible way for you to care less than you do about the topic. Over "could care less" stating that you do care and you could actually care less, we don't know how much you currently care, but we can assume it's more than 0.

Not trying to be pedantic, generally interested in the right phrasing as I've heard both and that's how I personally interrupt it.

I avoid hell by doing it in the ear.

Came here to say this. The entire legacy of Kain / SoulReaver series. I have them on steam, but they are unfortunately very dated. I could see them redone in the same style as god of war to make some company a lot of money.

So I can just bang out random words because they don't have meanings either. Why use the emoji if it doesn't have meaning? You used a disappointed face emoji, to express disappointment. Like it or not language evolves and this is how our language has evolved thanks to technology we use emojis to express feelings. But what you're saying is I can just toilet boat coast bananas these are just ruddy words if we choose to ignore any meaning associated to them. If we are stripping the meaning from emojis we may as well do it to words too. Have you any idea how ridiculous you sound.

To make it simpler you could just explain what you meant by the disappointment face emoji, as it is obvious stuff is being lost in translation here. A lot of us read it as you are disappointed, though we also don't understand why you would be disappointed that a bigot aligns himself with a party of bigots? The previous poster seemed to be asking for clarification in your statement, yet you chose to attack them for it.

In their defense, I read this the same way, like you are upset he is a Tory because of the emoji use.

He's an edgy 14 year old

How would you police it? Can't know if someone is using their device if they're not holding it, they could be singing to the radio or talking to themselves.

I'm having no issues avoiding American politics. When I started Lemmy I just used all and blocked any communities that put out stuff I didn't want to see, politics, furry porn etc now my all feed is pretty well curated, my experience with 12 years on Reddit was not the same I couldn't avoid the American politics, as people posted them in subs where they had no business being.

Don't think the tree was on his land, just that people cut across his land to get to the tree

I've heard the dad put the lad up to it. He was tired of people walking across his land to take pictures of the tree. Allegedly I don't have any proof for any of this other than word of mouth. I've also read it's unlikely a 16yo that can't drive got (what must have been a very large) chainsaw to the tree in the night during stormy weather and cut a tree down in a way that people claim to be more advanced than an amateur tree feller could. Again all conjecture but the comments I've seen making these claims went into details on they why's they thought that and it felt convincing but I don't know much on the topic. Either way it's a tragedy, the tree had been there 100's of years.
