It's the same uninspired desperate attempt at trying to get attention by recycling behaviour someone else at some point got views with. Like soy faces on YouTube, or generally SEO / blog spam that's more or less destroyed Google search results.

I've been lurking on regularly cycled usernames, so that was pretty easily done. I haven't deleted Slide yet, but since it'll stop working on 30th, that's a given. I'm going to try my best to help build up the niche communities like hardware focused ones on lemmy
My hopes are on Intel as viable 3rd party. Looks like AMD and Nvidia have agreed they can fleece customers for piss poor perf/price improvements.

This is wild. I'm on an Asrock board, so luckily not too affected. At the same time, with AMD's PSP and Intel's ME, nearly all boards are 'backdoored' to some extent anyway.
Yup and I'm working with very limited space in an SFF (meshlicious) case. I repasted the thing and made a custom fan curve, which, with noise-cancelling headphones, makes the noise manageable.

Couldn't agree more btw., most of my fans have been Noctua for a long time. Even though they are just a few % better than other, much cheaper fans, I find the noise profile itself to be much more pleasant at higher RPMs.
Anyway, then I bought a used 3080 and now my computer sounds like an F16 taking off.
