I'd like to see creators who own their rights put in contracts that the story must be told in full, and that whatever pacing is decided on (1 season per book for example) needs to be maintained. I know most studios would walk away, but I'd love for someone to have the balls to tell them that

You want to make my 10 book series into a TV show? Put your money where your mouth is and pony up 10 seasons worth

Marketing really has just ran away with everything. I wonder what they'll rename the console as

I landed on digital ocean. Fair prices for a vpc and a reliable name

Yikes. Good luck to you, noble goals, but there are real consequences for even unknowingly hosting that content.

Good intentions, but I would be wary of anything not official like foldingathome or boinc (both great projects I recommend)

The reason is other people are horrible, and while your intentions are good, it's significant risk. Lemmy had a csam attack a while ago and I immediately moved my instance to the cloud because I learned that if I even accidentally hosted anything it means immediate seizure, self hosting it means they plow through my door and yank the servers.

Tor nodes, peertube, you open yourself up to that risk

Definitely. Just the only way I can think of to actually prevent it

Not a lawyer, but the only thing I can think of is if you incorporated and then banned anything like that in the area - but that's a massive amount of lift I'm pretty sure

That guy is the woooorst

Pocket has helped millions save articles and discover stories worth reading

It did?

we’re channeling our resources into projects that better match their browsing habits and online needs.

So other things no one asked for?

My primary worry too there. While being under a giant publisher isn't a good thing, we did get games like Satisfactory and DRG. Messing with the formula at all right now is risky

What? They're on their own now, not owned by embracer. We have no idea if this will be good or bad from them. There are pros and cons right now, but I thought most people would be happy they're out from under Embracer

I decided when the show was on that I'd love to buy and read the books, when they're finished. We're over a decade past that and still haven't bothered to even crack open the first. Doubt I ever will
