That's okay, it's the purple on one the left. It's a big deal because as you can see, their network is more of a "hub and spoke" where all of the lines go through Manhattan. But if you want to go from Brooklyn to queens you have to take huge detours armnd roundabout ways to get there. This connects most of the lines at the edges

Kahn said looking back, she should have secured private health insurance as soon as she was laid off.

"I should have done COBRA, even though it was very expensive," Kahn said. "But yeah, hindsight is 20/20."

The near-$21,000 burden will probably lead to fewer vacations and a delay in having central air conditioning installed at her place, Kahn said.

She said she hopes others can learn from her misstep.

"It was my fault. I took the risk of not doing COBRA and that's forever on me," she said. "But if one person gets covered because they saw this story, then I would be happy about that.

Our system is fucked, that is for 100% sure. There should be no way that someone goes into medical debt because they were laid off, and we should fight to have a better system.

However, viewing the problem at the societal level and the individual level are different things. Societally we need to push for health care for all. Individually though - get COBRA, get on a spouse's plan, whatever you need to do. Don't risk it.

When was the last time anyone here ate at Arby's? It's one of those places for me at least that only gets brought up by my parents on where they want to go, and for me it's always ugh really?

It's so desperately needed. Anyone who has used the subway in NYC knows what a pain it is if you want to go between Brooklyn and queens. Best case you catch the G which if you're going to the outer side of the borough is still a long way out of your way. This would be a critical link between the very sprawling lines, and definitely will revitalize the outer edges

Means they're aware of libre office and they're scared, so that's positive. I'm guessing the European countries switching over is making them nervous.

Love it, maybe they'll start realizing they're the baddies

Fair, I usually poke into All every once in a while to see if there's anything new, and !communitypromo@lemmy.ca is usually pretty good at letting folks know too

it was very telling that the managers didn't seem to care at all

I was skeptical at first, I've seen a lot of attempts over the years, but holy shit, it works (and on Linux I might add).

Links to download are in the article. It's not seemless, but the world is "alive". Drove around, got a 5 star wanted level, died and respawned, people out walking around, rode the subway, it was great.

Things noticably not there - spawn locations of your favorite cars/helicopters, and of course no story stuff - but I spent a few hours having a blast.

Lucky for me my parents were both "I didn't save anything for retirement, my kids will take care of me when I'm older", so I don't have to suffer through this.

See! You're not THAT poor. Just give it another few decades!

Engines are being warmed up on “One,” the drama series set in the world of Formula One racing that Felicity Jones is attached to both star in and executive produce.

Variety understands that the series is in development with Amazon MGM Studios for Prime Video, although it has not been officially ordered yet.

“One” — which marks Formula 1‘s first officially sanctioned scripted series — will focus on a failing family-owned racing team, led by Jones’ character, as it contends with fierce personalities, ever-changing rivals and multi-million-dollar stakes.

The series is produced by Bedrock Entertainment, launched in 2020 as a joint venture between “Band of Brothers” producer Tony To, “True Detective” executive producer Dan Sackheim and ITV Studios America. Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby — who were Oscar nominated for “Children of Men” — will write and executive produce.

To will executive produce “One” for Bedrock, alongside Sackheim and ITV Studios America’s president and managing director Philippe Maigret.

Jones will also produce alongside her brother Alexander Jones for their Piecrust Pictures banner, which recently boarded graphic novel adaptation “100 Nights of Hero,” starring Nicholas Galitzine, Charli XCX and Richard E. Grant.

News of Amazon MGM developing “One” comes amid a busy period for Jones, who recently landed a Golden Globes nomination for “The Brutalist” and has several projects coming up, including the feature films “Night Train” and “Oh. What. Fun.”

One of those things I wish every once in a while, to meet the actor/actress I most enjoy and just ask them questions about their roles and what they were thinking.

Of course the worry is that they are completely opposite in real life and it would ruin the illusion, so a catch-22. I both want to know more about them, but also I don't want to know anything.

To kick us off, some here know my favorite actress is Felicity Jones, and I would absolutely love to meet her and know more about how she chooses a role, she is very selective now. She is also very secretive about her process and how she gets into character, yet she is one of the best biographical actresses in my opinion after Jane Hawking and RBG.

A fun one I think would be Woody Harrelson, talking to him from Cheers up to Hunger Games and more, he seems fun to have a beer, but he also seems like a prime "actually an asshole" candidate.

Guaranteed the word "woke" will be thrown around left and right

Current best video models? (poptalk.scrubbles.tech)

Has anyone been using any great video models? I've used SVD and it's been... fine, but I see some really great videos online and don't know how they're generated. I'm thinking mostly Img2Txt style, in ComfyUI so I can generate an image and then animate it. (My perfect case would be something like multimodal, where I give it an image and a prompt, and a video would be spit out)
