I hope st peter reads that line back to him at the pearly gates before pulling the big lever

Yup, easy way to get me to put away my wallet

I did, it says historically, we don't have that confirmed right now. Yes, it might be happening, but we shouldn't jump to conclusions. There are a few reports, it isn't a scandal. (yet)

This is pretty standard though, I worked in computer repairs and warranties for a long time. No one covers water damage unless you pay extra for it. Water resistant does not mean water proof, and it gets wet it's still like any other electronic

The daily show had such a strong millennial audience and they targeted gen z and alpha so hard. I don't know why they didn't keep the daily shows format as close as possible and just have a new one for them right before or after

Superman is woke because he just helps people and doesn't charge a fee.

Just throwing in my weight here, Bazzite linux worked out of the box on my AMD hardware, and it's tuned for gaming. I have it set up as a HTPC just like you and it works great.

I'm thinking more the value of unreleased songs being stolen and distributed

Someone with such important data that absolutely needs to be secured had drive-level encryption turned on right? Right?

Can't read it due to a paywall

It sounds like what I think I sound like. Completely different from when I'm taped

Says more about the poster that (if it's real) should have just said "heh yeah" and left. If it's not real, then wtf is their life where they need to come up with B's like this? Cashiers have it hard enough

Learned the term recently and really enjoy it, subscription fatigue is the feeling we all have had now where we are just over how everything is subscription based.

Which one was the last straw or most annoying/frustrating to you?

Excerpt:

To underline Blanchfield’s point, the ChatGPT book selection process was found to be unreliable and inconsistent when repeated by Popular Science. “A repeat inquiry regarding ‘The Kite Runner,’ for example, gives contradictory answers,” the Popular Science reporters noted. “In one response, ChatGPT deems Khaled Hosseini’s novel to contain ‘little to no explicit sexual content.’ Upon a separate follow-up, the LLM affirms the book ‘does contain a description of a sexual assault.’”

Hi all, looking for my next major project/frustration. I've been forcing myself to learn the new AI tools and I think I'm ready for the next step. I'm familiar with image generation and I dabbled in a bit of chat bot stuff, but I think I'm ready.

I've read a few blogs but I want to find something that could work with my existing setup. My dream setup would be:

A voice assistant that runs locally, preferably dockerized, backup linux, and final option would be Windows, that can run a decent model and preferably let me train a custom voice for it.

I currently have:

  • Home Assistant set up already, I've seen the OpenAI integrations but would like to migrate off of those
  • Google Minis laying around, I'm willing to sacrifice one of them if it means I can use my own stuff
  • Spare 1650GTX GPU, I know not the best but hopefully enough to get it off the ground before deciding to go in on a larger GPU that would be dedicated to this

Needs/wants/nice to haves would be:

  • Basic chat functionality, what's the weather like
  • Play music from my plex or jellyfin server
  • HA integrations so I could say stuff like "Turn off the lights"

Sorry for dumping all of this, like I said I've seen blog posts around, some are doing parts of this, but I wonder if anyone has done something like this. I'm sure people have tried. Guides, jumping off points, even githubs/projects you know of would be helpful.

Thanks all!

Unless anyone says anything major, there have been several low effort rage bait/troll/anger posts from the instance lemmy.name. Checking it out it seems to be small but open for registrations and so getting a reputation.

In general I try to limit defederation to one of the last options, (i.e. super NSFW instances, ultra conservative right leaning instances, or anything that just spews hate) but I have already defederated with a few. I take it as if you want to see that stuff that's great, join a server that federates with both and you can see both - but I won't host it here.

Please let me know here if anyone would be horrified by this or they'd be cut off, otherwise I'll defederate from it.

Get it quick!

Canada you get your shot!

It's happening!!!

My theory continues that she's ready to be done with the re-records and wants to get them out the door

Lucky to our Cali friends!

"I Can See You (Taylor's Version)" open at the Grammy Museum until September 18th!

Get things moving again, what is everyone listening to? What new song is stuck in your head that you have to share with everyone? What links to playlists or videos should we be listening to?
