They're starting to realise caving and bootlicking is no way to deal with bullies?

Most moderate lemmy user when talking about digital freedom:

Nothing at all. No law proposal has happened yet, nothing official.

I really doubt something like Chat Control will ever pass.

Sounds like they are getting more serious now. Some ECB documents about the possible marketshare were also leaked recently.

We'll see.

That's why the ECB is building the digital euro

I mean my statement is pretty broad, there might be some landlords somewhere who do things that are either ethically or legally wrong. But in general they aren't doing either. Landlords are people who invest their money and time in housing and just like any investment they want it to be profitable. If it's too profitable it's not their fault, it's that we have to build more houses, have better transportation and better public housing to ease off pressure on the private market, not kill all landlords.

Only difference is the EU doesn't engage in electoral manipulation and Russia does.

EU is supporting a country against Russian infiltration attempts aimed at destabilising it and undoing its democratic institutions in order for it to become a Russian puppet state.

Russia engages in electoral manipulation in basically the entire western world by means of media propaganda schemes, funding of eurosceptic parties, bot farms, etc. EU doesn't.

Get your head out of your Russian manipulated ass.

The German Federal President is elected by parliament + some representatives from each regional council, so I don't think that's a threat for now but it certainly will in the next popular vote.

Not saying Europe is in the best shape but you have a President threatening war to stay in power, accepting Qatari bribes, saying he wants to be treated like kim jon un, etc.

It's not even close.

The landlords aren't doing anything wrong, if the market price is too high you have to increase supply it's that easy.

Worse? It would be much better in my opinion.
