It depends, If say it was JK Rowling that she is 100% public amount wanting to harm trans people (including trans kids) including using her money to fund that. Then Yes I wouldn't like it, If it's just something minor then probably not, Depends how close to home it comes really but I rather educate than through hate.

What do you think development to improve the Sports Center?

https://www.morgansindallconstruction.com/our-projects/live-projects/southampton-outdoor-sports-centre-osc/

Currently the construction is happening but it seems promising. I hope it turns out as good as they think the idea will be, not sure how much the gym will cost (for public use) but it would be great to look at when it opens.

It’s all they’ve been taught, they’ve been taught to be selfish and that America is the only country to care about, if you don’t believe in god and America then you are in the wrong, should be wiped out of the earth because you have sinned.

I've only done limited research into this as I often don't get into Economy stuff but this seems like a okay community, but obviously check it out and see if you can ask questions and stuff in it but don't see why you can't

It's not a bad way to get started, I'd suggest to find some communities you are interested in and begin to post content on them if they don't get much content as it will show others that you are interested in that topic but also feed well for others looking for the content in the future.

[–] sam@bikersgo.social 5 points 4 months ago (3 children)

It's all good, yeah it's a little different than your traditional social media as instead of going for reactions and pushing out content you actually need to communicate and talk instead of just pushing random posts more of the time to grow an actually connected audience

[–] sam@bikersgo.social 13 points 4 months ago (7 children)

Post, Talk and communicate with people.

As you use the Fediverse you will slowly see regular people pop up, talk to them, especially those you've enjoyed talking to in the past or have something interesting to say to.

The Fediverse is about communication and sharing ideas so do that, This can be done through posting in communities or commenting on posts in communities / topics you are interested in.

This is the main reason I hate branded clothing, With moth clothing they have branding on it and it's just an advert to the clothing brand. I personally hate this and try and find brands that are rather hidden / hard to see but also cost effective for me as I can't afford something super expensive especially for somethings small like clothing.

They probably would be, especially as the moment lemmy is still small. If not I'm sure there's the opportunity to create a 'partners of trans' community in the future if needed.

[–] sam@bikersgo.social 5 points 4 months ago

I personally found it because of learning about places like Mastodon after looking for alternatives to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & all of those social medias.

I mostly connect to Lemmy through my instance that isn't running lemmy but connects with it, but still sometimes find myself looking on a Lemmy Site to look through posts.

Not everyone uses android, I used to but don't anymore.

Because sometimes people don't like apps, especially when some are paid.

Why doesn't Lemmy have a back button?

It's really confusing me why Lemmy doesn't have a back button when you are browsing via the web. Is this something that just got missed or is it meant to be like that?

Southampton Parked like a Tw@t Alternative

Should we be having things like Southampton's often used 'Parked like a Tw@t' on Lemmy? It's not a bad community on Facebook or at least can be funny at times, and it could be good to have some sort of sub devoted towards being a 'replacement' / alternative for those who don't want to be on Facebook or even are hoping to move on over.

Zen's old logo was fine, if anything made sense, what is with Zen changing its logo to a circle target thing. What is the point of it?

@southampton@feddit.uk How do you think we could get the Southampton Feddit Community to grow?

I love the idea of the Reddit alternative community growing over time and I really wished that the Southampton one grew more than it seem to have in the recent year.

How would you want to grow the community more?
