also, what worries me is other latin american leaders wanting to do the same. el salvador's situation was uniquely bad, few places in the continent have anything remotely similar. for instance, it would be ridiculous to defend that kind of crackdown in brazil

As far as we know, Israeli nukes are not integrated with the US.

i wouldn’t be so sure that Israel wouldn’t use nukes without US approval. Israel isn’t a loyal hound that acts on command, its a rabid beast that even its master is afraid of sometimes
if it comes to that i think the US would shoot down any attemps, either interrupting the missile mid-flight (i imagine having the military over there isn't only to defend israel, though it does that 99% of the time, but to try and control the situation in general) or just by doing a coup or some shit after the order is given but before the missiles are launched
