They're not mutually exclusive.

Take a look at Mussolini-era art, especially architecture. Many actual fascists love to represent themselves like that.
I'm out of vermouth, so I'm having Gin Cocktails, which is actually a Genever Old Fashioned with a dash of orange liqueur. Vermouth empties rather quickly when you're drinking 4:3-Martinis!
It's silly to claim that a novel is intrinsically better just because it's long, serious and difficult to read. I'm with Gimli on this one.
And it’s fucking our country so bad that we won’t be a world power in 20 years
Unfortunately, I very much doubt that. Look at Russia, it's even worse than the USA AND has a far worse economy, yet it's still a major power.
Does it count as patriotism if you think your country kind of sucks and want to improve it? I suppose many rightwingers are convinced that they are doing exactly that, if only it were actually true ...
Vermouth tends to be a strong and controversial flavor, I like wet Martinis but I wouldn't want to drink one with Noilly Prat (my go-to is Dolin dry), and even though I have a sweet tooth I hated all the bianco vermouths I've tried except Martini & Rossi. And then there's the matter of how fresh that vermouth is ...
drinking straight gin didn’t feel right.
It kinda get that, on the other hand I actually enjoy straight gin in a glencairn sometimes. I'd feel self-conscious about ordering that in public, though.
Have you tried leaving the vermouth out completely? Kinda sounds like you don't like what it adds to the drink.
Not hating though, you do you!
Dust, strong smells like smoke, food, deodorant, pollen if you have allergies. Insects and other animals can also get into your clothes easier, including those that eat fiber.
