You are right. It really highlighted the notion that the OL was actually doing much better, but Fields was causing many of his own sack problems.

I think average have a way to glossing over the real story.
Fields had two games where he threw for 8 TDs alone...
In those two games, he was 8 TD to 1 INT.
In the other 6 of his 2023 games, he is 4 TD to 5 INT.
Even in the Denver game, Fields disappeared in the 3rd and 4th quarter, losing a fumble that resulted in a Denver TD and he threw an INT with less that 2 min left in the game.
Yes, the defense gave up a shit ton of points, but damn...Fields just collapsed in the 4th quarter and helped is team lose.
So no, I do not think the average you put up show an accurate picture of who Fields is as a QB. This is why his W/L record actually matters.
"Worrying"?...just because folks on the interweb have a frivolous conversation about a team they support doesn't mean they are worrying about the topic or believe they have input. It is just a frivolous conversation, much like this one.
It's funny, everybody was talking about how shitty the OL was, then Bagent started. Viola, sacks and pressures dropped considerably.
I'm not claiming the OL was world class, but Fields made them look a lot worse than they actually are.

Winning is good...Bear Down!
-
I would rather be the Bears today than the Vikings
-
Fields is not the guy... 200 yards, zero TDs, 3 sacks and 2 fumbles...this is not quality, especially when the D spots you 4 extra possessions.
-
The D is coming together. Pressure, sacks, INT, run stopping.
-
Penalties...70 yards, is just a potential game killer.
-
The Bears have a lot of pieces, and some units are starting to work well together, but I don't think they have the leaders to pull it together, especially on offense. Something isn't working with Fields and Getsy, but both seem unable to adjust to put together anything resembling a competent NFL offense. Flus seems unable to solve this problem, so he needs to go also.
Yep, his "2 lost fumbles and 30 yard drive for a FG" strategy sure is sound. LOL
Fields is below average...a high quality backup, low end starter.
Sexy enough that somebody will think they can fix him...that is good for us.
no indications Justin Fields is the guy.
Really?
Dunno why Fields is getting hate on this one.
C'mon, you know why. 200 yards, zero TDs, 3 sacks and 2 lost fumbles in the closing minutes of the 4th quarter to lose the lead.
This. They won in spite of Fields, not because of him. He was about as good as a backup QB, servicable.
I feel like folks are grading Fields on a curve because they really want him to do well, but damn. IF 200 yards, zero TDs, 3 sacks and 2 fumbles is your idea of quality QB play, then we need to adjust expectations. If this was KC, or Buffalo, Philly or San Fran...no way is this seen as acceptable play.
It's never his fault, is it?
At what point can we judge who he is? How many 4th quarter int or fumbles do we need to see? How many drive killing 15 yard sacks?
What are you seeing that everyone else isn't?
You are probably correct.
