The heat and the kids. Looking forward to the summer holidays! π¬

Thank you! No idea where I got it, but it's a perfect size.
Second this. My son loved these when he was that age, and still does. Portal 2 is maybe pushing it in terms of suitability, but not too bad. I generally stick to age ratings as a rule. Portal 1 plus the extra levels definitely.
Trying to do as much work as I can before the sun comes round to the back of the house and into the room I'm working in, by which time it will be unbearable. I think I have about 45 minutes. Which means it will coincide with a Teams call. Woop.
I popped over to the site that shall not be named for a look, and was dissappointed to see so much of it was back open, with users posting away. But well done CasualUK for sticking it out.
Jam on toast or jam on toast tea?
Kids are off to school and I'm sitting in the sunny back garden listening to trains and having a fantastic homemade espresso. Perfect. All downhill from here.
I'd suggest LΓΆve, which uses Lua. It's a powerful language but equally easy to learn. You could also try Pico8, which is also a version of Lua. It's presented as if it's an old 8-bit microcomputer with a built in sprite and tile editor. I find Pico8 much more approachable for beginners. Python is another good starting point for low end hardware.
This thread is asking for trouble
I've archived my saved posts and upvotes, and deleted the mobile app. I never use the website. I might shred my comments and posts and delete my account before the end of the month. I don't think I'll go back. Honestly, I was tiring of it anyway. So many bots, reposts and memes. I'm not optimistic about Lemmy, to be honest - Mastodon seems to have quietened down after the initial flurry of activity, so I can see the same thing happening here, but it will be interesting to see what happens. But I think I'm done with Reddit.
Clicking on these causes Jerboa to crap out for me. But as someone else pointed out if I click on community links via another users profile it takes me to the community where I can subscribe, even if it's in another instance.
I blame CSI and Law and Order. I think they oversaturated us with "of the week" procedurals drama so collectively we all jumped ship to these shorter, high concept shows.
