I consider it yet another ADHD tax. We live a less than 5 minute walk from a big Asda that is open 24/7, I seriously don't think I could cope with wacky Sunday opening rules.
We went camping in the Scottish Borders for a couple of days. It was nice when we got there, and then it rained. Spent all of yesterday afternoon drying out a soggy 5 person tent in a small patch of the back garden. On the plus side I got one night of great sleep on a new self inflating mattress. The kids really enjoyed it too.
Congrats! I love working on the NES, aside from having to desolder those PPUs. It's such a simple system that debugging is relatively straightforward, given the right equipment.

I, for one, are taking the kids shoe shopping.
I'd probably do the the balancing in a spreadsheet with the basic formulas or macros to approximate expected progression.
For what it's worth the New 2DS XL is my favorite variant of all the DS models.
Ah excellent. I got an Anbernic RG35XX a couple of months ago and am loving it. Had a couple of spare hours at the weekend and just did some grinding for magic in Final Fantasy VI. Nothing else. Just some grinding. Loved it.
Pikmin! When I worked in a games studio in the early 2000s a couple of people played this religiously on the big screen. I wanted to, but could never get into it. Made me feel a bit sick, which thinking about it I now realise was probably the rear projection setup. Maybe I need to give it another go on the Switch.
And Shenmue! I am only about halfway though Shenmue 1. Played it on the Dreamcast. I feel I must try and get back into it. I think I have 1, 2 and 3 all playable on the Series X.

I went for a big walk in the rain this morning, and my new watch tells me I spent 54 minutes in "the zone", which I guess is a good thing? I'm calling it a win. Unless it's the forbidden zone, in which case I'm screwed.
