I’ve been eating medium-rare burgers my whole life. Restaurants, at home, random neighbors BBQ - and not once can I recall getting sick.

I had no idea people were eating their burgers well done as the norm. The reasons people have posted regarding bacteria seem sound but still… I am so so sorry for you.

LIGHT SPOILERS FOR THE WHOLE SERIES

Having read the series, I was at first a bit put off by Murderbot’s interpretation to the screen. It’s a little cheesier so far - the survey crew for example. And I never got that Murderbot was so outwardly awkward when dealing with humans. It hates it, sure, and sometimes it slips up and lets its emotions show, but typically it was capable of being socially competent (as in pretending not to be rogue - and eventually pretending to be human). I don’t recall the “speech” scene happening in the book. There are also a few lore changes so far.

That being said, I’m enjoying the TV series as its own thing. But I definitely recommend the books to anyone who prefers hard sci-fi.

This update has also changed the CPU governor from schedutil to powersave. Any one have some info on why this might be? Wouldn’t this reduce performance?

Edit: Found some info. It seems this was an intended change due to enabling AMD P State. https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamOS/issues/1781

I mean yeah none of that is wrong but all I said was I like gamification in learning, not that Duolingo was the best form of gamification ever presented.

I was going to high school in France when Saw 6 came out.

Everyone was calling it sausage - was pretty funny at the time.

I ended my sub and deleted my account when they announced they’d be replacing their contract workers with AI.

Lingonaut looks promising. And I’ve been trying out Language Transfer for Spanish. I’ve learned more about how Spanish “works” in an hour of Language Transfer than I did with months of Duolingo. I’m smacking myself for wasting the time - though I do enjoy the gamification.

It went down fast due to a failure of design. Water was able to move freely from cabin to cabin. This was not the typical design of ships during this time.

I’m pretty sure the titanic didn’t have enough life boats before it hit the iceberg.

Now that I think about it, it may have also been designed in a way that would enable it to sink faster (not saying this was on purpose) considerably before even touching the water.
