I was kinda exaggerating, but at the same time considering how bad things are in the UK, idk... I'd just be suicidal-thinking at least because I wouldn't be able to get the care I needed and have to order meds from sketchy DIY sources (which still isn't as cheap as even getting care in America with insurance, let alonee feeling scared that I don't know how to do it right long term) and in any job I'd work, they'll know my AGAB and thus want me in only the one gender neutral bathroom in the building, or maybe the men's bathroom. I just would never be treated as normal, and that's what I want as a trans woman, that I pass and that no one considers my past. You get what I mean? It's super depressing because most cis people are very very mean about being trans.
Maybe though I'd find workarounds, that's what minorities have done throughout history, but it's certainly going to be depressing when considering that I first started realizing I'm a woman in 2019 that I thought it was going to be fine and I can be a normal woman mostly, only for that to be dashed away due to politics in the 2020s.
I am aware that communism has this shit happening too yes, I just said that corruption happens a lot.
Also my hexbear account is... I don't have one. I haven't been on lemmy in ages and the last time was I think lemmy.ml, and it was years ago, like 2020 or earlier, I forgot how old lemmy is... Like I don't think I even knew I was trans then. (Edit: I did have a lemmy.ml account, I was trans then too, but just starting and it was 2020. Lol. I haven't used it in 6 years.)
And I would die in the UK because I wouldn't have my hormones (the NHS moment) and I wouldn't be able to use the restroom in a job because they would know my AGAB and they have a national bathroom ban. And the news would be even more depressing with all the JK Rowling asskissing.
Technically capitalism also requires death to operate, it's just far more subtle in how it's done, like not gassing people in chambers but rather trying to strip resources from people until they starve. That's why fascism and capitalism are related and fascism is what pops up at the end of capitalism, because the goals are similar, to have certain people more powerful than others, it's just capitalism abstracts it with money and the theoretical freedom of the system vs fascism which just points a gun at your head and blows your brains all over the wall. In communism it's not the theoretical goal of the system, but rather a symptom of corruption as the leaders long for a system similar to fascism or capitalism in terms of power for the top.
And Europe and the Commonwealth have been dealing with the Epstein types? If so that's really great, I'm admittedly hypercynical from American politics and the fall of our democracy towards soft fascism, and the exposing of a lot of our seemingly at first glance positive bits like protecting nations and Israel turn out to be imperialist and fascistic. That said, the one exception I'd have for talking about the Commonwealth is the UK when the UK is basically going down the same paths as the US, with some aspects like the anti-trans fascism being far worse than the US. I would die if I was in the UK lol. That said all of the European nations are still responsible for the Israel/Zionist stuff too, I hope over time they back away, but considering how bad things are going in the US I'm doubtful.

I will say that perhaps he's playing the long game, whether we're talking the major issues like the trans and zionist bits, where you have to look palatable to voters or to Trump or to the establishment, but first off, voters follow where the radicals go, and are happy to hear some give a shit about something, and trying to ally with Trump or the establishment seems suspect because those two groups do not want socialism to win no matter what. You just lose things.
The craziest bit too is while every Democrat seems at best very wishy washy about being anti zionist, the fascists have blatant and consistent critics of Zionism like Tucker Carlson and Nick Fuentes, but it the version of anti-zionism that the elites and establishment can get behind, which is actually anti-Semitic screeds about Jewish conspiracy theories rather than genuinely being against the genocides in the Middle East. It's just this and the trans stuff (oh my fucking God the fact Harris and other Dems thought not talking about trans people and some conservative Texas ones thought we should call trans girls men is fucking insane) is making me feel black pilled about America ever getting out of where it's at. 😭😭😭
Tl;dr: Mamdani depressed me so much because I believed so much in him because how far left he was supposed to be and is, and I cited stuff and then reflected on how it seems like fascists can do a better job at talking about Palestine than anti-zionists can, because they do it in the elite backed way by blaming Jews instead of seeing Israel as an American colonial project.
They might technically be different, but I've been getting horrible vibes from them after their 2024 loss. Gavin Newsom had been agreeing with fascists on how to rid of trans people, Mamdani has had no response to the hospital closures and instead had the AG strike the closure down while saying not much shit, the advisors to the Harris campaign were using the word "transgender" in a bad way that reminds me of conservatives, and the fact is there has been some Democrats involved with Epstein, especially the non progressive types. Also don't get me started on anti-zionism, when progressives like Mamdani have almost completely rid of these bits, minus maybe a few aspects like saving a protestor and getting rid of some executive actions that Adams did. Mamdani also cut the library fund after criticizing Adams doing it. The Democrats have supported the genocide in Gaza during Biden's years, and have been supporting the Iran and Venezuela invasions minus in how Trump did those invasions. The Democrats recently have also supported age attestation, similar to how Republicans supported ID verification for porn.
Look as a trans woman, it feels like I've been systemically backstabbed first by capitalists with the fall of rainbow capitalism, and then systemically by a Democratic party that wants to no longer oppose Trump and instead become blue MAGA and copy him, even on the "far left," (Mamdani... Fetterman... Soon Graham Platner) to establish a new normal where internet fascism is the default policy and the US turns into the UK and the Democrats into the Labour party. And people like me and a friend of mine in Lebanon will all get slaughtered so socdem Americans can pretend to get closer to healthcare when the capital class will never let that happen no matter what.

Communism never worked at all (crushing of communist revolutions and calling Cuba and pre-Maduro Venezuela bad, as much as the latter was anti LGBT which is a major problem), Israel has a right to defend itself, ignore the rapists alongside Epstein, Democrats and Republicans are different in their goals, regime change in other Latin American countries, communism killed more than capitalism (which is more debatable when you consider economic death in capitalism, but then again the holodomor was really really bad and targeted Ukraine, and don't get me started on the Muslim genocide in China), Islam is violent, so on so on.

I will never understand why a tankie wants to support a capitalist nation (yes formerly ML but like that's long ago smh, even if you think being a tankie is good) invading a sovereign nation that doesn't deserve invasion. Ukraine, Cuba, Palestine, Taiwan, it doesn't matter their ideologies, these countries are sovereign nations (or supposed to be in the case of Palestine) that didn't need a fucking invasion.

Fucking hell, that's America for you, basically killing Medicaid for the absolute poor in society and reserving it for just those marked in mental trouble and physically disabled. I'm trying to sign up for it too in Maine and I'm pretty worried they may not even cover me due to the same laws, especially when it seems like no one will hire me anyways. Trying to sign up for disability, but I'm scared it'll be impossible to sign up for.
