The audience for this is ethnic Russians in the Baltic countries. They want those folks to cause trouble even if they have no intention to do anything about it. Around of a quarter of Latvia and Estonia are ethnic Russians.

There can't honestly be a lot of them. I'm sure even folks who donated don't have that much of their personal ego wrapped up in a game engine. Not to say there aren't none, of course, because there's always people who really will cling to anything.
How successful are these appeals generally? I'd imagine an appeal court doesn't want to really step in unless there's a major problem with the judge's reasoning since they weren't there for the case and aren't looking to retry it.

That's just really funny to me to make a diminutive out of a diminutive. Martini already means Marty. Both Martinez and Martin, which they are respectfully diminutives of come from the Latin Martinus for a child dedicated to the god Mars.
I think one of the most helpful things you can do for yourself in actually understanding WHAT racism is is to first understand that you don't get to call yourself anything. You're white because society deems that you're white. You can rail against that all you want but you'll still be white. Now not everybody will actually follow that logic, but the vast majority will because those codes are internalized. They can change over time (I believe that currently folks of the Levant are being slowly considered nonwhite despite them historically, within the last hundred years at least, being considered white) but they're unlikely going to change for you.
