I think there are a whole shit ton of folks that don't understand the fascist threat in America. I think many folks still write it off as a Trump phenomenon vs something that has been festering for many years. Despite that, if you've been in antifascist circles as long as I have you know there's been a significant change in the amount of folks who understand that threat.

Since he was already having half his face transplanted, I think they did it just because why not. They wanted to prove they could re-vascularize the retina at least. He was aware of the risks and it likely already came from the same donor anyway so it's not like it created more of a rejection risk than whatever musculature they already transplanted. If the retina didn't get successfully revascularized or it was some sort of very localized rejection, they'd just enucleate the eye and put in a prosthetic.

The benefit of a self imposed code of ethics is it gives clear guidelines for impeachment. It's a "too little too late" situation, but congress absolutely can use that as a guidepost for both investigations and convictions.

You don't. The retina to the brain is a whole package. This is a cosmetic transplant. They don't expect him to regain any vision.

Studies have shown optic nerve regeneration is possible in some lower vertebrates, such as fish and frogs, but there’s no evidence it can work in mammals.

It's always funny to me when people make posts advocating for moderation polices in a way that would straight up get them banned due to those policies.

They don't want to handle coins essentially. Going to the bank to exchange coins for cash every day is a huge part of the labor cost, so they make you use tokens that not only allows them to get rid of that but also essentially charge you seignorage.
