Oh I am too but since that's not going to happen I just belligerently adopt the position that every single player better than the worst player in at a given position deserves to be in the HOF.

Here's a list of every eligible player who in my opinion has a better resume than the worst player in the HOF at their position, which includes 44 players.

Unless we're gonna start taking guys out of the HOF there's about 10-15 of these guys who are absolutely HOF quality based on previously inducted players at their positions. And probably another 10 or so who aren't even semi-finalists.

[–] rkunish@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This time definitely not, but history suggests any player who is a semi-finalist on their first ballot is pretty likely to get in the HOF eventually & he was a semi-finalist last year.

[–] rkunish@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Fred Taylor is not the best eligible RB not in the HOF, he just has the most rushing yards of any RB not in the HOF. The two best eligible RB's, Shaun Alexander & Priest Holmes, aren't even on this list.

Reggie Wayne & Andre Johnson were both better than the three WR's you list.

James Harrison's INT was not the most important play in Super Bowl history. It is probably the best play, but definitely not the most important.

[–] rkunish@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I wouldn't exactly call Jeff Saturday a snub, there's arguably two other eligible centers with resumes just as good or better in Nick Mangold and Olin Kreutz. And all 3 of them are solidly worse than the worst couple centers to ever get in the HOF. They'd all be more or less fine semi-finalists but nothing more.

The biggest snub of any O-Lineman is definitely Steve Wisniewski who's now only 2 years away from his eligibility expiring.

Kevin Williams should probably already be in the HOF, if it we're up to me Shane Lechler would have been at least a finalist last year on his first ballot, & Ngata's definitely more deserving than any of the RB's on this list and
