Blind horses are so handsy... We had a blind pony as kids and found he did better with stuffed animals tied in the barn. We slept with them a couple days before hand and it changed his behavior a lot.

Wow, what a great response, thanks!

Also, with people littering from cars, that draws the little animals they eat to come to the roadside to search that litter for leftover food. The owl dives in low to grab the rodent with its feet, putting it right in the path of cars.

Sometimes I use someone's kid to get thru to them about things like littering (or responsible land use). This is such a great info nugget, thanks for this, also!

I want to follow this community more.

If owls could talk! What could cause this?

I did not know that Mull was dead. Thank you for sharing! I will have to make a change.

When I first got involved in this, I had a kbin and a lemmy account. I ended up focusing on the kbin, but it was useful to have the lemmy to see how things moderated. Kbin is dead now, but I still will occasionally use the lemmy to see how things look. I find it valuable. As an mbin person now, I think I should have some other instances in the mix as well. It's a federation, and for me, I would like things to be appropriate for all of us. It's kind of fun! Even if I am not a big user of other instances/federations?

I moss say, this is a nice share!

They are cancelling, effectively, many other things, too. Many of us have required ongoing training to do our jobs. We cannot travel for anything. So many levels of safety are at risk.

A great example of how these folks do not care about things unless it happens to them. I am glad they are getting the vaccine, but I hope they push their "network" to do the same.

The important thing is tension, for the thread to be tight. If you can do this, happy engineering! My similar machine, tension on the string is hard, more with a longer length/step.

I don't remember having an issue with this when I pushed carts, but it was a long time ago and I suspect if I saw someone do this I would have pouted about it.

Totally misunderstood the headline until I read the article. I work for the federal government, and most folks in my small town have the attitude that "they aren't coming after jobs here, just people in DC or higher levels." It is incredibly hard to change these perceptions, even when things DO affect folks at the local level. People can make excuses for almost anything 😑

I am not an engineer, either 🤔 I see your front picture, my machine is similar. I would not be able to change anything myself. As @gadfly1999@lemm.ee mentioned, these really are highly engineered. If you change one thing, you must change everything.
