I switched my entire server to seagate (exos) 3 years ago after I had 3 WD red drives (non of which was older then 4 years) fail within a year. Haven't had any issues since ... I'm not buying WD anymore for the foreseeable future.

I've been appointed as a mod 3 times now.
The action shows up in the modlog straight away, but it always takes a couple of hours until it actually works. Then, serveral hours later it seems to just reverse itself.
I suspect it has to do with ongoing federation issues on the side of lemmus.org (the instance of the head mod account). All post from lemmy.world are delayed by about 12 hours on that instance.
Maybe the delayed federation somehow messes with the mod appointments?
I really have no idea why I was banned from those two communities specifically. I don't think I've interacted with any of them (apart from reading/voting) for weeks. It's not an instance ban.
If there is a better place to post this, please tell me.
