I can't watch anything without Closed Captioning, as it was always on for my brother growing up.
Watching movies without CC must be like looking out the window to you.
I've read over 20 audiobooks this year.
It's either full on "Somber music playing" or subtitles for "foreign" parts only. I just want subtitles for everyone talking. Bonus points if foreign parts are translated, but if there's supposed to be some mysterious group speaking a strange language - like french or something - then give me subtitles in french.
My favorite is when on-screen text is subtitled.

Then you're doing it wrong or have very low powered hardware. I used SVP to interpolate 24/30fps to 60fps in realtime years ago. Both CPU and GPU based. Looks great.
On top of that, downloads would be unnecessary big unless the source material was 60fps - like twice as big at least.
I only consume drugs I find abandoned in the street.
T9 would work on a rotary phone input. You would save a lot of of time. It would still take a lot of time.
