Updates can modify persistent data to be non backwards compatible anyways, so it’s even more important to back up beforehand

Ubuntu with Docker containers is super solid. I started with desktop and realized I never used the GUI, switched it over and never looked back. Especially with Kasm.
Doesn't auto-delete, but you can point Nextcloud to your library folder as an "external share" (that's a plugin you need to enable), allowing downloads and manual deletion.
If they made it a Chase card I’d apply instantly
