To me it is not 100% clear if your IP is always hidden
This community post talks about mixed results although it says that issue was fixed
A quick Google search and many sites say that warp does not hide your IP altough some say that they added that feature
However this post and this post from the cloudflare team says it does hide your ip.
That's what I use but the dashes aren't the most important part

In the end I found an alternative solution. The app I wanted to use was on the galaxy store under a different package name so I used that as the original app and installed the modified app with same package name as the Google play one

Yes if you open it. You could also only use the outside screen which would give you a phone with a small screen.
