The phrase "South Korea has no first graders" had such "the west has fallen (mom took away my PSP)" energy I had to do a little digging to see if the numbers were being fudged - 157 elementary schools is about 2.5% of the elementary schools in ROK assuming this data from the ROK Ministry of Education is accurate. Not an insignificant percentage for something this crazy, but I'd like to see this data over time. I worry I sound like I'm awarding Pinocchios but it irks me to see that headline presented as if it's the majority of schools

Including Gerald Ford is a good bit

What's funny is I never even saw the Sabine video on capitalism everyone hates cause I dropped her when she started saying stupid shit about HRT. But yeah this definitely isn't that bad, I think you're exactly right about it being some weird balancing act.

I really like/liked this guy and I remember when I first found him I thought he had really good material analysis and then learned after that he says he's a structural Marxist or something and was excited. I can deal with the Stalin ate all the grain crap but was mostly turned off by the bit about people treating Marxism religiously in the modern day, which is not how I feel at all. There's baby leftists out there who maybe are just waiting around for the second coming of the USSR (but perfect this time) but I felt he was painting with too broad a brush and dismissing historical materialism as ahistorical just because capital is in fact hard to win against. Bordering on end of history stuff.

I think maybe it annoyed me to see someone who I usually felt had really good rational analysis say some dumb ass shit (looking at you Sabine Hossenfelder). I think I was also hoping for something about capital as a "real god"/demiurge or something and maybe that wasn't a fair assumption to go in with

Mostly commenting to remind myself to come back and revisit this video at some point I guess but also hoping other comrades can help me articulate why it rubbed me the wrong way.

Voyager from ZSA, which is a wonderful board and sold me on low profile, but I do miss the tactility of the cherry switches on my last board. Waiting on lowprokb's silent tactile chocs so I can have my actual perfect typing experience, hopefully!

I'm slightly to the right of Attila the Hun

I hate that I know this but is this motherfucker identifying with the military coup portrayed in the fucking movie version of Evita? This is a line from that unless I'm mistaken. Just, an unbelievable level of cringe

EDIT: I was fucking right though it might also be from the original musical

Welcome to one of the more expensive hobbies a normal person might still fall into! Are the switches in your board hot swappable? Cause if not, just know changing switches would require desoldering and soldering on the new ones. But if you have a hot swap board you can just pull them out

Seconding ZSA, I couldn't be happier with my Voyager

Most jokerfied timeline: she resigns next month, McConnell refuses to allow appointments in an election year and Manchin joins him, Biden campaigns on the appointment, fails, Trump appoints Barron to ensure the court stays 7-2 for the next 40 years

There's another layer of really disgusting chauvinism in this I can't totally articulate. Dude clearly views Palestinians/probably any Arab American as being motivated by emotion, but the rational white people can rise above and observe the facts and logic of the situation. Infantilizing Palestinians but dressing it up in this "I hear you" language, but still genuinely believing they're stupid for being against being genocided.
