They don't "protect" you from anything but other armies

Yes, but other armies do exist. And that will always be the case. There's no way to convince everyone to not have an army, especially because someone would have to be first and no one would want to do that because then they are defenseless.

Damn. So still not a replacement for iMessage. Does anyone know of a good iMessage replacement (doesn't require a phone number, available for under 13s)?

I don't see an Android version anywhere. Can you provide a link?

Why is Memmy listed under Android. It's iOS only

This change impacts every mobile user, not just iPhone users. iPhones are a good portion of the userbase of most apps/websites. For PWAs to gain mass adoption, it needs to be available for the majority of users. This change means that will not be the case in the EU.

PWAs have just been doomed by Apple, and unless Apple reverts this change, they will now never be successful in the EU. And probably not even outside of the EU since non-european products still have european users.

And then capitalism that made the company repeatedly ask for him to stop researching it.

Did N64 games work on the Sega Genesis?

No, but Playstation games did https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bleem!#Bleemcast! And Sony sued them but failed

Yeah, I mean, the best thing to do is to get it working ahead of time.

Still applies though. "Oh but it used to be worse"

Everyone in the comments: "Actually I don't have the same problems so this is wrong"

[–] rbits@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago

It's different for different people. The distro, the hardware, and the game can all have an effect on how often problems arise.

A year? You'll put your content on Mastodon but won't let us communicate properly for a year? Why? You shouldn't have released the first part yet, federation for Threads obviously isn't ready.
