Ah I see yeah, that totally makes sense. Speaking of everything turning into a rental or subscription, reminds me of the fact that you have to pay a fucking subscription for car sear warmers in some luxury cars now, pure insanity. And also I guess there's the fact that any of that stuff stored digitally can just disappear in a snap. Like decades of cultural history, important or not. Kinda wild
I still collect records, and a lotta people I know collect them and tapes as well. I don't listen to much mainstream music so I can find a LOT of what I listen to in vinyl format. Even then I know a lot of pop artists started releasing music on it as well. Why does streaming worry you?
I wonder why though? Like, since it feels so good is there an evolutionary reason for that? Also I think if you rub too hard you can scratch your cornea or something like that, too. Luckily that hasn't been the case for me as far as I know.
Fuck, how does one even avoid it?! My allergies are the worst during spring time too, sounds like torture to NEVER be able to. Luckily I have astigmatism and can't get Lasik anyway
WHY does rubbing your eyes feel SO FREAKIN' GOOD
That's the thing with trauma; your whole world is built up around fucked up shit, so when you're finally treated with real love and kindness it can feel disorienting, uncomfortable, unsafe even....where once you're subjected to the trauma again, that's what feels like home since that's always been a constant companion. I remember being in a counseling session and having my therapist tell me "YOU ARE NORMAL. The circumstances you were put through weren't" and I just busted our crying. It is tough to parse through but I hope that you are given the love that you deserve and that you can accept it, even a teeny bit, one day.
Lmao I'm the same way without the follow through Like I just finished a book about Capital, so now I want to read David Ricardo and some other economists to compare theories. Then of course I want to read some anthropological literature to learn more about commerce and origins of Capitalism. And then Hegel, and then the French revolution and then and then....and then I forget lol.
I have horrible memory and have thought about note taking; do you have a form that you follow that works for you?
I've been off of work for the past month and a half and I return on Tuesday and I really would rather jump off a bridge
That's a really good idea. I think there are still active portland mutual aid groups on Facebook too
Looks like it was founded by your average enjoyer.
