Updates on my Marxist reading journey: I'm waiting for my books to come in the mail and I read a bit of Engels yesterday for the first time and OH MY GOD he is so much easier to read than Marx. I only read an introduction to the creation of the middle class in Socialism: Utopian and Scientific and I felt like it was a contemporary writer the whole time.
Also I finished Wage Labor and Capital and now I'm seeing that, if value increases for one thing, it comes from the decrease in value of something else in everything. Like things only improve at the expense of another. Is that dialectics? Lol. Anyway I'm obsessed with reading now more than I have been in a long time, perhaps because I feel challenged. Let's see how long it lasts; I have a LONG ass reading list so I feel like I have to read as fast as possible before my brain randomly decides that it doesn't care anymore.
It would be rad if other businesses, on the same day, donated portions of their proceeds to the Anti-Police Terror Project
I too would like to know, if you find it. I'm assuming it wasn't on TV at all?
I mean, I've definitely had to park close to the lines and such but I've seen many a giant pick up obviously taking up 2, nay 4 parking spaces. Absolutely no reason for that. I mean, there couldve been another car in place of that sedan parking like a dick but in that case I'd just park closer to the car on the right, even in the wheelchair scenario.
Ah yes, just as circular as I remember it:
But how much labour is embodied in the labour of a labourer of a day a week, a month, a year. If labour is the measure of all values, we can express the “value of labour” only in labour. But we know absolutely nothing about the value of an hour’s labour, if all that we know about it is that it is equal to one hour’s labour. So, thereby, we have not advanced one hair’s breadth nearer our goal; we are constantly turning about in a circle.
At least in this text Engels admits that it's circular. lol
gonna take my cute lil' notes on Obsidian and pretend like I know how to use it like a good lil' student
'boutta read THEORY on COMPANY TIME.
Ah, after about a week they decided to go back to work because they didn't want the city to get too unsanitary. At that point they hadn't gotten any concessions from their employer.
I haven't actively listened to them in FOREVER, but when they first started out they were a pretty heavy band, no? I remember being pretty into it. All of the Grateful Dead hippies in my town LOVE them so I've been apprehensive to dive back in.
