I get what's happening, I'm just lamenting the BBC's reporting, which matches electricity companies' marketing in its absurdity, if not outright dishonesty. One cannot "switch" to "green electricity" like one can switch Internet providers.

It seemed like a larva, it was pretty translucent. The question is: what kind of beetle?

And definitely don't want it mixing with blue hydrogen! ZOMG what a clash! Fashion police alert!

The connection will be large enough to carry enough renewable electricity to power two million homes.

Is renewable electricity somehow different from normal electricity? Are there now two national grids, one for electricity and one for renewable electricity? 🙄

This is a ridiculous article, it makes no effort whatsoever to explain why these people feel they have no choice. What do they need protection from? What protection do they believe the UK will provide that France won't? Or any other state for that matter?

Seems like another thinly-veiled propaganda piece from The Guardian.

you're attributing those views to "the citizenry"

I haven't attributed anything to the citizenry. I wrote two distinct paragraphs, only one of which contained the word "citizenry".

the article

Again, I wasn't talking about the article.

at the scale of the current riots and violence

You never mentioned scale. You've introduced a new concept. You're shifting the goal posts.

What other comparison is there? suggest a different comparison

Why is making a comparison important?

“Why 5 years”

I wasn't asking why 5 years, I was asking why you're saying the violence has ramped up compared to any time period at all? Why are you comparing to a time period?

the Telegraph

I was asking about OP's comment, not the Telegraph's article. Of course the Telegraph will include irrelevant detail in order to sensationalise (in their view) the story. Others repeating that irrelevant detail is questionable though.
