If you're not openly trans, then you really shouldn't be dating online because that's a risk.

My sister was open about it and she got creepy Neo Nazis looking for Russian girlfriends.

My sister is trans and she had to deal with that. She also made it extremely obvious that she was trans but she still got Neo Nazis.

She also got banned from a dating site for saying that she was only attracted to cis women.

TERFs are obsessed with the idea that you can always tell.

The transphobe Chloe Cole won't be able to use it.

If bathroom laws pass, she will never be able to use a public bathroom.

You're setting yourself up for an extremely sad life if you are content with being isolated and "weird." It might be fun right now for a few months where you take time for yourself and go home and take home fast food and watch Netflix, but that expires very fast. You don't want to be a creepy, aloof 80 year old man who everyone assumes is a virgin. My sister was diagnosed with autism and used to be a creepy male virgin and she can't stand people like that.

Edit: It felt too much like I was saying for poor people to just deal with it so I might rephrase it.

If they push hard enough eventually there will be a replacement.

Federation could solve this. All you need is one flagship instance that doesn't allow uploads, but it allows users to create accounts and playlists to act as "the" site for the federated network and then content creators can start their own instances.

I was wondering about this. If they didn't keep track of who is voting, manipulation would be easier then it already is. The problem is that rogue instance admins could make votes public.

That's one of the problems with archiving everything. I lean in favor of the IA, but there are still issues.

Can you elaborate on the last part?

TBH I can understand that it's a problem for people who aren't expecting it. If they disregard instructions not to index things then that's also a problem. The only real way to prevent scrapers from replicating content is to place it behind a registration wall.

Reddit also has vote fuzzing where you can get the number of votes, but it's always manipulated for some reason.

I don't understand the point, and tbh it's a serious case of social media mind fuckery. It's a real problem for anyone who creates an incredibly specific subreddit for use by a group and then everyone is left wondering who keeps downvoting them. That can have real life consequences for anyone who doesn't understand what is happening.
