Not even knowledge, attentiveness. It's so easy to overlook issues with AI written code vs writing it yourself and having to come up with the process. Just today i had this happen, cost me a day of extra work because i missed something in chatgpt's great looking code.

Yeah, well, linux is great, but people seem to rarely give the full disclaimer. So people end up disappointed, go back to windows and end up thinking you need to be hackerman to be able to use it. Or they do end up learning everything, think they're hackerman and tell everyone in the world how linux is just sooo much better and easier because theyve been using it since 1969 or whatever.

My view: Your grandma could comfortably work on linux. It's when you need stuff beyond the most basic aoftware that there's a much steeper learning curve than windows. You fuck up, your system implodes. Once you're balls deep into computers, lets say software development, linux becomes easier and more useful again. Its that middle group of average users who have the hardest time.

Im talking more generally, people always claim its the greatest thing since sliced bread but it's just not. And i've been around the block many times, love linux on servers etc. Desktop is hell though.

Well, you're missing out. You want a show with an accurate portrayal of hacking and tech culture? Good luck, it doesnt exist. But at least this show tries to use legitimate tools and techniques used in the real world.
It's also not what makes the show interesting though. I can understand if it's not your thing but this scene should not be the deciding factor.

Yes but no. You'll be struggling to get things work or school expects you to run, gaming is a mess, and if you got the wrong hardware you can expect your OS to randomly give up because there is little support for anything that isnt linux specific.
Its good to get people into linux, but i dont like the dishonest description people use to sell it.

Mr Robot. Rewatching it now and x-files rewatch is next on the list.
Maybe Lost but you gotta kinda vibecheck if it's your thing. And Stranger Things also has the whole mystery vibe going.

Especially time, dont believe the lInUx Is EaSy crowd. it is a learning curve if u want to do anything more than the most basic operations, and you can forget about most of the software you're used to.

Not arguing, just an observation / reaction. I've learned that it usually does little good to discuss evidence and reason with people who hold extreme beliefs. The information is out there and available, but most of the time just discarded because it doesnt fit into their narrative. I wish you the best of luck with your propaganda beliefs.
